For example, the Sabatons were the armor for the feet and consisted of riveted iron plates on the boots. These are the part of the armor to be put on first.The hand armors are the knights gloves and were called Gauntlets and had ringed metal plates over the fingers. Spikes called Gadlings were then attached to the knuckles of gauntlets.
