Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffMay 1, 2014Disco Zoo offers a unique gaming experience, proving to be even more fun than it sounds, but its pixel art doesn't look all that great on a tablet. Even so, this game remains great fun.ProsEnjoyable gaming experience: With Disco Zoo you collect animals for your zoo by solving casual puzzles, which initially may seem hard, but in time become easier as you get used to their repeating patterns. Collected animals appear in your zoo, where they generate the coins that you need to buy new modes of transportation and travel to more distant regions to find penguins, elephants, and even dinosaurs. The catch is that animals in your zoo fall asleep after a time and stop generating money, so you have to keep returning to the game to wake them up.Disco party mode: The hilarious disco mode turns your zoo into a veritable dance floor -- everyone dances, the visitors, the workers, even the animals. This mode keeps the animals awake and doubles their earnings. To initiate this mode you need anywhere from one DiscoBox currency for one minute of disco to 50 DiscoBoxes for eight hours. You start with ten DiscoBoxes and then have to pay real money to buy more.Great soundtrack: The mellow, laid-back soundtrack matches the theme of the game perfectly, enriching the gaming experience.ConsClumsy graphics on a tablet: The pixel art looks great on a smartphone and goes well with the gameplay, but on the larger screen of a tablet, it isn't as good.Requires a bit too many taps at times: When all animals have fallen asleep, it would be more convenient to be able to wake them all with a single button, rather than to have to wake up each one.Bottom LineIf you enjoy playing games on your smartphone, you should definitely try the hilarious Disco Zoo. It's fun, accessible, and doesn't demand too much time. The only downside to it is that you may not like how it looks on a tablet screen.
