Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffNovember 15, 2018 Rovio's Angry Birds Go! brings you a hugely entertaining mobile racing experience that features a cast of 3D characters from one of the hottest mobile franchises out there. The game offers plenty of gaming modes and carts, but suffers from ads and an energy system that limits how much you can play. Still, if you're a gamer, you can't miss this one.Pros Great controls: Angry Birds Go! uses outstandingly straightforward controls, which boil down to steering your cart left and right while occasionally tapping a special powers button -- acceleration is automatic. The concept is so straightforward that the game is immediately accessible, providing a delightful racing experience. Fun gameplay modes: In addition to sprint races, you can take part in time trials and Fruit Splats (in which you have to smash as many fruits as possible), as well as versus Races, in which you have to challenge characters from the series. The coins that you can collect while racing further increase the game's appeal, since you can use them to upgrade the performance of your cart, or buy new vehicles. Daily Challenges and Facebook integration further increase the game's replay value. Beautiful game design: The 3D cartoonish graphics, the fun characters, the well-crafted racing tracks, the special effects, and the flamboyant soundtrack all have the timeless charm of other Angry Birds games. What's more, you can actually play as the main characters from the series.Cons In-game purchases: While you don't have to spend money to enjoy this game, once you reach the later levels you need to buy costly carts. Some cost as much as $49.99 and cannot be used for all levels. Drains battery: While overall the game feels optimized, running smoothly without eating up too many system resources, it does take its toll on your battery, draining as much as 25-30 percent in about one hour. Limited energy units: Each game character comes with five energy units. Once these are depleted, you must wait at least a few minutes before you can play again. The problem lessens as you unlock more playable characters.Bottom Line In spite of its energy units system, ads, and outrageously expensive in-game purchases, Angry Birds Go! remains a fantastic racing game for both children and adults. You can play it for free, but if you're willing to spend money on in-game purchases, you'll enjoy it even more. You definitely have to try this game, especially since Rovio has promised to add a multiplayer mode soon.
