Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffSeptember 15, 2011Tweetdeck, now owned by Twitter, gives you power over your Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, and Google Buzz accounts, all from a single application window. It presents each of your feeds as customizable columns, and allows you to easily swipe left or right between them. Thanks to Tweetdeck's slick, dark interface and adjustable text, keeping up with your social networks from your Android device is easy on the eyes. Your feed columns are adjustable, and updates are even color coded so you can quickly distinguish between Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, and Buzz posts. The Home column shows all of your feeds aggregated in a single place, while the Me column tracks replies, comments, likes, and retweets of all your content. Beyond these, you can create columns to track Mentions, Direct Messages, Twitter search terms, Trends, and so on. What's more, you can customize the notifications for each of your columns by changing update intervals, LED, sound, and vibrate settings. Tweetdeck makes staying on top of your network updates a whole lot easier. Posting via Tweetdeck is just as easy with the help of the app's powerful onboard tools. It lets you post to multiple accounts, add pictures, location tags, shorten URLs, and mention contacts, right from within the Compose message interface. Also, the Friends screen lets you save up to 12 friends to speed dial, which means no more memorizing Twitter handles. Finally, because the Deck.ly service is seamlessly integrated, you can type Tweets longer than the standard 140 characters, and Tweetdeck will automatically include a link to the rest of your post.Because of Tweetdeck's solid features and slick user interface, we think it's a great choice for avid social networkers. We would've loved to see autocomplete of contact names, and possibly some scheduling of tweets and posts, but these certainly aren't deal breakers.
