Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffNovember 10, 2018Using 3G, 4G, and Wi-Fi, Tango Voice & Video Calls lets you chat, call, and video-call anyone in the world for free so long as they have the app installed on their device, as well as share with them photos and play games. This new version comes with a revamped interface that looks and feels great, but technically isn't perfect.ProsOffers a complete social experience: In addition to its communication features, Tango Voice & Video Calls features photo-sharing, a discovery mode for finding people near you or around the world, and a newsfeed with customizable channels for receiving updates from a dozen popular publications and websites, as well as a gaming platform through which you can play BlackJack, Spartan Wars, or other engaging titles with your friends. Most other communication apps on Google Play don't have this wide range of social features.Beautiful redesign: The interface looks so sleek and moves so smoothly that after the redesign it has become probably the app's best feature. The chat window with its rounded avatars is a joy to view, as is the streamlined newsfeed with accessible but unobtrusive sharing and commenting buttons.Great for socializing: Because it has millions of active users all over the world and makes interaction easy through features like winking for attracting a person's attention or Shake to Connect for randomly meeting people, this app provides a social life on all those rainy days when you're stuck at home.ConsConnectivity issues: We haven't experienced any problems with chatting, but the voice call and video call features, while stable on the whole, don't work smoothly all the time. We got a few errors and even two or three disconnects while using them.Too many notifications: The app constantly sends you social notifications without giving you the option to turn them off.Bottom LineTango Voice & Video Calls looks great and makes long-distance communication more convenient, possibly cutting down your calling costs. The app's social features, though appealing, won't bowl you over if you're already using Facebook or Google+, but they remain fun, nevertheless. In the end, this app has all it takes to wrestle with giants like Skype or Viber for the title of most engaging Android communication app.
