See for yourself on your phone and on your Android Wear watch.Be smart, get the facts. Wiki Where? finds your current location and contacts Wikipedia to get up to 10 pages in a 10 kilometer circle around where you are. You can kick off walking directions from the app if you want to visit any of those places. Get Wikipedia out of the search box and into the everyday world.On your watch, swipe through pictures of nearby sites from Wikipedia. Double tap any photo on your SmartWatch to start walking directions to that location without touching your phone. Of course, a watch is not required - the phone has a complete set of features including navigation.On your phone view the same nearby page photos in a summary list or swipe through the full page with a tap on the list. Open the page on Wikipedia or tap the arrow to get walking directions. You can set the distance for the search and change the number of results in the Settings screen. Use the menu to load up Wikipedia's photo of the day or the featured story of the day.This app is ad-driven. Your personal information is safe - Wiki Where does not share your location.Two more phone features in development - enter in a location and show the Wikipedia search results on a map."Wiki Where?" displays content from Wikipedia as licensed under the rules of the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License. It starts with the location provided automatically by the phone for pages near you. The watch will always show your current location.Map view is better (see screenshots) with smaller images under the pin on the map for each location found on Wikipedia. Touch the pin to see a photo and the place name.Search speed is improved with better use of the Wikipedia API. Bitmaps are cached on the filesystem.
