The grayscale interface looks drab and isn't optimized to take advantage of the screen space, but remains usable, nevertheless. While this app lets you add trips manually, its true power lies in its wizardly ability to compile an itinerary for you by scanning your inbox for confirmation emails from hotels, airlines, etc. You can also choose instead to forward those emails manually to an email address. The instantly generated itinerary proves accurate and comprehensive, including not only essential information like dates and destinations, but also handy weather reports and maps. On the downside, the app doesn't support multi-day activities and bus tours. Also, it occasionally crashes while editing a travel plan.With its ability to auto-generate itineraries and provide all the essential travel information you need, TripIt Travel Organizer - Free can prove an invaluable travel aid. The interface could do with a revamp, and the editing features could be improved and optimized, but overall the app remains highly functional. If you're a big-time traveler, you may even want to consider the Pro version, which offers, among others, a flight finder and real-time flight alerts.
