Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffJuly 21, 2013WiFi Mouse lives up to its promise in that it does turn your device into a usable wireless mouse, keyboard, or trackpad, allowing you to remotely access your Windows or Mac computer. However, it suffers from malware and other non-technical issues.ProsFunctional: WiFi Mouse does work as advertised if you take the time to follow the rather lengthy procedure of setting up your computer and facilitating remote access through tapping, scrolling, and pinching hand gestures. Though there are occasional glitches, overall the app proves consistent.Handy customizations: Through its streamlined Settings screen, the app lets you tweak the sensitivity of the mouse and scroll as well as enable left-handed mouse. This makes the process of learning how to use your smartphone or tablet as a remote mouse or keyboard a lot easier, even for beginners.ConsMalware problems: While the Android app is 100 percent clean, the mouse server desktop program you have to download on your computer bombards you with malware that can take over your browser and infest your whole system. This seems to be a recent problem; users of the earlier versions don't complain about it.Insufferable pop-up: As if the ads were not trouble enough, this app nags you with a buy pro version pop-up triggered by the movement sensor in your device. Whenever you move your device while it's in remote mode, you get the pop-up.Bottom LineWiFi Mouse works as intended, but because of its malware issues and frustrating ads it ends up being vexing. While we cannot recommend an app whose desktop server is loaded with malware, we cannot bash it either, because technically it delivers. It's a pity that this well-made, efficient app is ruined by the developer's poor marketing tricks.
