Though it's missing support for one of the most popular archiving formats when creating archives, it makes up for it by giving you several different ways to compress your files. It saves you from moving your folders over to your computer to zip them up.ZArchiver supports the popular ZIP and 7z formats, but it uses TAR instead of the more common RAR. While you'll be able to view contents of RAR archives and decompress them, you won't be able to create RAR archives. When you're choosing your format, the app lets you prioritize speed or size by offering six different compression styles. It also lets you protect your archives with a password, which is a nice touch. The app's layout is customizable up to a certain point; you can change the background, font size, and icon theme. However, the icons you use to navigate through the app aren't clearly labeled, which makes it tough to figure out what exactly they do without just doing it. The app's file menus are a little crowded, as well. Nevertheless, ZArchiver offers smooth performance and lets you quickly create and decompress archives.Even though it's not the most beautiful app, it definitely gets the job done. ZArchiver will help you ZIP any file folders you need compressed and will do it neatly enough to compete with super compression software you'd only find for desktops. No matter how tightly you need to package a file folder, this app will be able to help you.
